Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and employee engagement strategy for a cooperative bank

Client Challenge

A cooperative bank wanted its grantmaking and sponsoring activities to be be more focused and to better align with societal challenges faced in the region. At the same time, it wished these to engage employees more and improve the company culture.

  • Conducted first thorough analysis of grantmaking and sponsoring activities to date 
  • Analysed local societal challenges to identify top regional issues 
  • Conducted series of interviews and workshops with employees at different levels of seniority to identify priorities going forward
  • Benchmarked activities and topics of similar players to identify “white space” in which client could make a unique contribution
  • Defined two focus topics for engagement that build on past activities and relate to regional challenges
  • Identified potential flagship partnerships for each topic
  • Defined catalogue of CSR activities including employee engagement opportunities 
  • Mapped out standardised process and criteria to be used for approving grants and sponsorships going forward
