What is the VfG Impact Academy?
The VfG Impact Academy is a programme that guides organisations in developing and professionalising their impact management.
We work with 6 to 12 organisations over 15 months to improve their impact management.
Organisations are supported through:
Blended learning (learning platform with videos, podcasts, miro boards with tasks)
Regular coaching sessions with VfG coaches
Networking & exchange with participating organisations and alumni
Our coaches offer
close support to the organisations, incorporating their
practical experience from other consulting projects and their
professional experience into the coaching content. Our funding partners enable selected organisations to participate to the programme.
The VfG Impact Academy was founded in 2018 in collaboration with
Eleven and has been continuously evolving since.
The implementation of the VfG Impact Academy would not be possible without the support of our funding partners.

How is VfG's Impact Academy structured?
The VfG Impact Academy is structured along four content modules - impact strategy, data, steering and communication - which are represented in the VfG Impact Management Framework.
As part of our VfG Impact Management Framework shown left, we have also developed the VfG Impact Matrix to help NGOs diagnose where they stand on the four aspects of impact management. Regardless of the mission, we believe that every for-purpose organisation can benefit from it.
How is the process designed?
During the duration of the programme, the participating organisations work on their impact management in different stages.

In the diagnostic phase, organisations are first situated in the VfG development matrix using a questionnaire, in order to define goals for the Impact Academy.
Who is the offer for?
Organisations...
- with initial experience in impact management (impact logic and data collection) who have a serious interest in advancing the topic long-term,
- that have at least two people dedicated to participate in the programme, with leadership-level involvement,
- which are open to exchange with other organisations,
- whose
participation is made possible
by our funding partners or who wish to finance their participation by their
own means.

We consider impact management to be the
core task of every social organisation. After all, impact is the very reason we all do what we do. Accordingly, we have high expectations for professional impact management and equally for our support.
Practical
Impact management often has the reputation of being theoretical and time-consuming. It does not have to be this way. We work
concretely and
practically on challenges and develop solutions that can be implemented and are
useful in everyday life.
Rich in opportunities
Of course, the VfG Impact Academy is still requiring time and effort - but we believe
it is absolutely worth it!
We have seen many organisations develop
greater clarity and motivation, work more efficiently and establish new funding partnerships by strengthening their impact management. We believe that impact management is essential!
