VfG IMPACT
ACADEMY

The VfG Impact Academy is our flagship programme for supporting the professionalisation of impact management.

Each year we work with 6-12 non-profit organisations over the course of 15 months to improve their impact management:

A woman seated at a table, focused on her notebook and laptop, engaged in work or study.

Blended learning in online and offline learning formats (learning platform with videos, podcasts, miro boards with tasks)

A man and woman stand together in front of a whiteboard, engaged in discussion or presentation.

Close support from coaches with practical experience from consulting projects on the topic of impact

Teammeeting Value for Good

Support through networking & exchange with other participants and alumni

In 2018, we founded the VfG Impact Academy with Eleven. Since then, we continually developed it with the contribution of more funding partners who make the participation for organisations possible:

FRAMEWORK

The VfG Impact Academy is structured on the basis of four content modules – impact strategy, data, steering, and communication – which are mapped in the VfG Impact Management Framework.

The participating organisations work on their impact management over a period of 15 months. At the outset, we use the VfG Impact Matrix to determine where they stand in terms of impact management and to adapt ourselves to their needs.

MONTH 1-2

• Diagnostics and target agreement: Where do the participating organisations stand? What do they want to achieve?
• Introductory module on impact management

MONTH 3-6

• Reviewing and improving their impact goals and logic, incl. problem and target group
• Linking the impact logic with their organisational strategy

MONTH 7-9

• Elaboration of their impact indicators
• Planning the actual data collection and analysis

MONTH 10-12

• Definition of responsibilities, structures, and processes to improve their work
• Analysis of their organisational culture and planning to strengthen impact orientation in daily work

MONTH 12-14

• Defining their target groups and content for communication
• Planning of annual / impact report and other communication formats

MONTH 15

• Reflection on set goals and goal achievement
• Planning next steps after the Impact Academy

How developed is your organisation’s impact management?

Why improve impact management with the VfG Impact Academy?

… because impact is the raison d‘être. Accordingly, we have high expectations for professional impact management and for our own support.

We work on concrete and practical challenges and develop realisable solutions. We want organisations to internalise impact management so that they can implement it in the long term—so that they naturally remain impact-oriented.

We have seen many organisations develop greater clarity and motivation, better work, and new funding partnerships as a result of increased impact management.

One year after the VfG Academy, 92% of participants feel better equipped to manage their impact effectively, while 58% report enhanced programmes.
