Designing a new budget structure for a humanitarian agency

Client: UN Organisation

Value for Good is currently supporting one of the world’s largest humanitarian agencies in designing a new budget structure that helps to better link resources to results. The goal is to have a budget that provides multidimensional information to managers in support of greater efficiency, effectiveness and economy (Value for Money) in all of the organisation’s operations.

So far, Value for Good mapped the status quo of the organisation’s budget and developed a new model for a budget. We helped test prototypes of the new model in 3 country operations and facilitated workshops with senior executives in order to make key decisions on a new budget prototype going forward.

We will help further refine the budget prototype by managing live testing in a parallel SAP environment in country offices, identify organisational implications of the new model and make the investment case to support board approval of the final proposal.
