Alena is Associate at Value for Good. Originally from Oldenburg in Northern Germany, she has worked and studied in Munich, São Paulo, Stockholm, Nairobi, Paris and Berlin.
Alena holds a Double Master in International Business from Stockholm School of Economics and HEC Paris. Her studies focused on topics such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Social & Inclusive Business and Sustainable Business Models. Working at Value for Good, she brings in experience from the private as well as social sector. At Bain & Company and KPMG, Alena supported various strategy projects in the finance, mechanical engineering, and IT industry. At 180 Degrees Consulting she worked as pro-bono consultant with NGOs and social enterprises and started founding her own social startup in Nairobi.
Her passion for understanding how businesses can address societal problems also led her to work with the consultancy Beyond Philanthropy. Spending several months at Beyond Philanthropy, she wrote a study investigating the role of companies in fighting poverty in Germany.
